Understanding the various navigation aspects of ClickHome is crucial in being able to get the most from the system. ClickHome is an easy system to learn and part of that ease is in using common methods of navigation throughout the program. ClickHome understands that there are a number of different types of users trying to get to the large amounts of information and that each user may need to use and access the information in different ways.

The following reference information will provide the base information you need to understand the structure of the ClickHome system and how to move around and interact with the different components. This section will focus on the higher level attributes and detailed attributes of specific sections will be drilled into in the appropriate sections. A list of the icons used in the system can be found in our Icon Overview section.

Screenshots and Descriptions of Navigation Components

The following sample screenshots with numbers are used to help define the navigation aspects of the system. The number represents the description below the screenshots of the component.



- 1 - Main Menu

The main menu is always available and enables the user to get areas of significance. For example if a user wants to list all jobs they can see they could go to jobs then choose the relevant type of job.

- 2 - Quick Search

The quick search area enables a user to do a quick search of a number of different areas of the system. Typically this would be by entering a name, a word (such as a known suburb or street address), or a contract number. this will then search for the matching records. The drop down next to the text box enables you to choose the relevant area of the system to do the quick search for. The default is against the master contract and will return all matching contracts, but you could choose an individual contract type such as leads or do a search based upon client. Depending upon what you choose the most relevant record set will be returned. if there is only one matching item it will take you to the detail of that item otherwise it will return a list of matched items. - 3 - Tree

The Tree is a fundamental part of the design of the ClickHome and is a powerful feature for getting around the software and seeing multiple items. The tree is a dynamic list of items that will change depending upon where you are in the software and what you are trying to do. While some of the nodes in the tree are visible at all times there are other aspects that only appear when it is relevant. For Example the full list of tasks are only visible when you drill down into the task area of a specific contract. The icons shown in the following image are used to quickly navigate the tree.

- 4 - Outstanding Reminder Notifications

The Outstanding Reminders notification area provides a quick and easy visual aspect to the system of any item that was marked with a reminder for the logged in user that it is overdue based upon the reminder date set in the system.

- 5 - User Preferences and Log out

The name of the user can be seen in the top right hand corner near the company logo. Users can click on this and set the available user preferences. this is where a user would go to change their password for their login account. The logout text located just under the users name enables the user to exit back to the login screen of the system.

- 6 - Context ToolBar

The Context toolbars appear in multiple places and is relevant to the area it is found in. Some screens will have only one context toolbar while other screen will have multiple context toolbars. Where there are multiple Context Toolbars they are relevant to the area they are located in (which generally means for the information immediately below). The screenshots above show samples of where you may have one or multiple context toolbars. The icons on a context toolbar will also change and are relevant to the section that you are in. For example if you are in a task area they will be around tasks such as accept, reject and complete tasks whereas if you were in the notes section then you would see add note, add meeting and similar actions. - 7 - Item Shortcut

The Item Shortcut Icons are also context sensitive and are available in certain circumstances in the detail of a record. These shortcuts enable quick actions or to get to specific areas directly without having to do the full drill down process through the tree. For example from the Master Contract page you can drill down straight into the next active task in pre-construction or directly to add a note to a particular contract.

- 8 - Drill Down

The Drill Down function is enabled on certain record fields that enables the user to click on the record and drill down to further detail. Commonly used to drill down from a task list to the details of that particular task or from a contract list and drill down to the contract or on a supplier or resource and getting access to their details. This is often used just prior to using the target Icon which will then target that information in the relevant context in the navigation Tree.

- 9 - Context Menu

The Context menu appears in certain records such as on the MyTask Detailed List. It enables a quick shortcut to actions that can be done for that item.

- 10 - Record Selector

The Record selector which is the tick box enables the user to select one or many records and perform bulk actions where available. A bulk action could be something like tag multiple contracts, complete multiple task and other similar actions.


Specific Navigation Icons

While there numerous icons used with in the system there are a couple that are extremely useful in navigating the system. 

This section discusses these.

The Target icon, as the name suggests, enables a user to target the relevant information within the tree which makes access to more detailed information and related pages easier. Some examples of where you would use the target function is if you click on a task in your My Tasks this will open up the task for editing and in the tree open up to the contract. If you want to find the task to add a document or do some other process you could click the target button and it will expand the tree and find the task in the list of tasks in the tree. Another example may be if you are in the list of all tasks for a job and you click on the assigned (Supplier or Internal Resource) it will open up the detail page for that resource / supplier. If you now click on the target button it will show the resource node in the tree and highlight that area. You can then see other details related to that resource eg: purchase orders, quotes or messages. The section on the tree also highlights information about the target icon.

The Expand / Contract icon will expand or contract all sections that can be expanded or contracted. A section can be expanded / contracted if it is highlighted with the following image  at the front of the section.

The  Contract All icon above the tree collapses the whole tree back to all of the parents. This is useful if you have drilled deep into a contract but do not want the amount of information expanded anymore.
