The Price Display feature against an option price is used for a couple of purposes;

1. To indicate that the option price should display text instead of the actual price to indicate that a price falls into a specific category e.g. 'Included', 'Promo',  'Note'

This is used mainly for reporting purposes.

2. To indicate that a particular option price should be calculated in the total tender price a different way to normal

e.g. even if you give the option an override price you do not want it to be seen as an override value in the total tender price - some builders call this a provisional cost or PC Sum.

To setup the price display currently this has to be done in the SQL database.

The display (1) and calculation (2) settings are set in:

 tbltenderpricedisplays

1. inPriceDisplay

0 = display actual price

1 = display the textintender

2= hide it

2. inCalcRule

0 = 'TotalCalc'
1 = 'OverrideCalc'
2 = 'NoCalc'

The name is populated in sgDisplayName and is customisable text.

The display text linked to the inPriceDisplay rule is also customisable text and it's stored in sgTextInTenders

The meaning of the values are as per below; (inCalcRule first, inPriceDisplay second)

0, 0 =  Display Actual Price & do not calculate as an override price even if an override price is provided
1, 0 =Display Actual Price & calculate as an override price if an override price is provided
2, 0 = Display Actual Price & do not calculate in either of the total prices

0, 1 =  Display custom text & do not calculate as an override price even if an override price is provided
1, 1= Display custom text & calculate as an override price if an override price is provided
2, 1= Display custom text & do not calculate in either of the total prices

0, 2 =  Hide price & do not calculate as an override price even if an override price is provided
1, 2 = Hide price & calculate as an override price if an override price is provided
2, 2 = Hide price & do not calculate in either of the total prices

Additional information:

There are 2 total prices:

1. Total House Price (Standard) =

This price shows the value of the tender using the standard pricing only, for custom options the price display will default to 1 making the price standard by default as well.

2. Total House Price (Override)

This price shows the value of the tender using the standard and override pricing if an override price is provided.

The difference between the 2 totals will be the total amount of difference between any standard and override price given.

These are the insert and update scripts that can be used to add or edit the price display values:

INSERT into tblTenderPriceDisplays
(sgDisplayName, fkidBusinessUnit, sgTextInTender, inCalcRule, inPriceDisplay)
VALUES ('Included', 0, 'Included', 0,0)

UPDATE tblTenderPriceDisplays
set sgDisplayName = 'Included'
where idTenderPriceDisplay = XXXX
