Setup - Package in Package


To create a tender Package in Package, go to Administration > Tenders > Packages


From Packages:

  1. Select a Package Category
  2. Create a new Package
  3. Name the Package and enter package options - see Setup - Create Tender Packages for details
  4. Open the Package Details


From the Package details, open the 'Packages Included' tab.

Navigate through the package categories to find the package you would like to include, and tick the box next to the package name:



Adjust settings in each of the columns as required- the columns are:

  1. Include Package - tick this box to include the package in package
  2. Package Name - this is the name of the included package. Cannot be edited here
  3. Area - the area the included package should be assigned to
  4. Price display - how to display package price - see Setup - Price Display
  5. Link type - the package in package link type, see below for a detailed explanation
  6. Qty - the quantity of package to be included
  7. Allow Remove - whether the package can be removed (applies to 'Included' link type only)
  8. Allow Increase - whether the package quantity can be increased (applies to 'Included' link type only)
  9. Allow Credit - whether the package can be removed for a credit (applies to 'Included' link type only)
  10. Credit amount - the credit amount in either dollar amount or percentage


After completing setup, click the save icon to apply changes.


Package in Package Link Types


To include a package in another package, a Link Type must be provided (see column 5 above).

Link types affect how the included package will be added to the tender. There are 3 options:


Maintenance: The included package's options will be added directly to the parent package's options in setup.


When the parent package is added to a tender, all of the options of the parent package and included package are added as part of the parent package. The included package is not selected on the tender.



When the parent package is removed from the tender, all of the options added when the parent package was added are removed from the tender.


If changes are made to the included package in setup, these changes do not alter the parent package. The included package must be removed and re-added to the parent package to update the included options.


Selected: When the parent package is added to a tender, the included package will also be added to a tender as if it was selected separately. All of the included package's options will be added, and all of the parent package's options will be added.


The included package can be removed from the tender by de-selecting the package. When this happens, all of the included package's options will be removed, and the parent package's options will be unaffected.


When the parent package is removed from the tender, the parent package's options are also removed from the tender, but the included package and its options are will remain on the tender.


Included: When the parent package is added to a tender, the included package will be displayed as 'Included' on the tender. All options from both packages will be added to the tender. Further selections can also be made on the included package.



The included package's 'Included' quantity will be displayed separately on the tender (see How To - Package in Package)


The included package cannot be removed or altered unless the 'Allow Remove', 'Allow Increase', 'Allow Credit' options are enabled.


When the parent package is removed from the tender, the included package and its options are also removed from the tender.
